Budget, employees, cabinets among county agenda items

Budget parameters, employee recognition, a road and bridge update, and senior center cabinets are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

The televised portion of the commission meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

Commissioners are scheduled to consider a request from the Department of Senior Services for approval to accept Crestwood Cabinets' proposal of $20,973.28, to install new cabinets on the dining room floor. The cabinets will replace the worn-out and broken cabinets on the food line and drink station, according to commission meeting packet information.

The Noxious Weed Department is asking commissioners to award bids for its 2020 chemical purchases. County staff is recommending that Van Diest Supply Company be awarded all 2020 chemical purchase bids. According to meeting packet information, "$104,000 was budgeted in 2O2O for the purchase of chemicals. The total expenditures will be determined by the actual amount of each chemical that will be purchased through November 2020." Van Diest Supply Company's bid was the lowest of three bids at $60,608.62.
