Norman Niles Wohler

Norman Niles Wohler was born October 30, 1938 in Clay County, to Paul and Irene (Olsen) Wohler. Norman was a 1956 graduate of CCCHS. During high school he worked at the Lincoln Heights grocery store in Clay Center. He then started working for Boogaarts and became the manager of the Boogaarts store in Phillipsburg, Kansas. Norman managed this store for 27 years and worked for Ray’s Applemarket in the produce department training new employees. Norman married Delores Hickman on June 14, 1959. He was a member of the Phillipsburg Lions Club, Phillipsburg Wesleyan Church where he served as Vice-chairman of the board, and Awana in Phillipsburg and Clay Center. Norman and his family were very active in church. They would often open their home for teen meetings, visiting church singers and pastors, and many other church members. Norman, Delores and their two children sang as a family quartet for several years and Norman sang in the church choir. He was a member of the Clay Center Wesleyan Church. He is preceded in death by his parents.
