Joyce (Bartley) Regnier Hemphill, 79, Cherryvale, died Friday, February 28, 2020 in Coffeyville. She was born July 22, 1940 in Miltonvale to Bernice and Venita (Pitts) Bartley.
Joyce and Lucien Regnier were married on August 6, 1958. She was a 1958 graduate of Miltonvale Rural High School and in 1973 she graduated with honors from Marymount College with her BSN (registered nurse). In 1983, she graduated with a master’s degree in gerontology from Kansas State University. In 1985, Joyce obtained a nursing home administration degree. Through the years, she served as nursing home administrator at several nursing homes and she taught nursing at Marymount. Lucien passed away on July 5, 2000 and in 2001, she married Ray Hemphill.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Lucien; granddaughter, Missy Regnier in 1993; and grandson, Randon Regnier in 2012.
Survivors are her husband, Ray; children, Bernie (Cindy) Regnier of Bennington, Doug (Tasha) Regnier of Black Forest, CO, and Michelle (Stephen) Loganbill of Cherryvale; step-children, David (Michelle) Hemphill and Dawn Ward; seven grandchildren, Ty (Rachel) Regnier, Nolan (Kasey) Regnier, Matt Regnier, Laura Regnier, Nick (Sarah) Loganbill, Trenton (Dani) Loganbill, and Christine Loganbill; two step-grandchildren, Sam Hemphill and Dalston Ward; and brothers, Junior (Donna) Bartley of Blue Springs, MO and Leroy (Betty) Bartley of Clay Center.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 7 at the Bennington Bible Church, 824 N. Nelson, Bennington. Burial will follow in the Bennington Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. at the church. Memorials may be given to the Twin Valley Educational Foundation (Randon Regnier Bennington School Library Fund, or St. Joseph’s Indian School, South Dakota, and may be left in care of Wilson Family Funeral Home, P.O.
