Mabel R. Comstock, the daughter of Walter Edward Nutz, Sr., and Bertha (Cedam) Nutz, was born May 5, 1943 in rural Thompson, NE and passed away on September 21, 2021 at Belleville, KS at the age of 78 years, 4 months, and 16 days.

Mabel attended the local public schools in Morrowville, KS, graduating from Morrowville High School. On April 14, 1961, she was united in marriage to Jerry Eugene Comstock and to this union four boys and four girls were born.

Mabel was a homemaker for several years. She also was a certified medication aide and also owned and operated the Haddam Café for several years. She loved gardening, reading, and canning.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Bertha Nutz; her husband Jerry E. Comstock in 2001; two sons, Richard D. Comstock and Morgan L. Comstock, and one daughter, Pauline M. Imler; two sisters, Patty and Ruth; and three brothers, Jerry, Edward, and David.

Mabel is survived by her children Jerry E. (Ginger) Comstock of Caney, KS, Patrick (Sondra) Comstock of Belleville, KS, Danita J. (Shannon) Chambers of Belleville, KS, Julie K. (Donald) Horn of Wentzville, MO, and Kelli R. Roth of Hebron, NE; Tory Comstock, Dalton Comstock, and Aaron Comstock; 19 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Leila Zenger, Bonnie Elliott, Linda Falk, and Wanda Henderson; two brothers, Lawrence Nutz and Wayne Nutz; other relatives and friends.

Cremation was selected and private family graveside memorial services will be held at a later date at the Union Valley Cemetery, rural Belleville, KS.
