KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Royals Charities is announcing a unique approach to a popular event with the current times in mind. The foundation will hold its annual 5K & 10K Run/Walk presented by Price Chopper virtually this year. The event was previously scheduled for Aug. 1.
We encourage all fans to join us throughout the summer or on virtual race weekend (Friday, July 31 – Sunday, Aug. 2) to run or walk while safely exploring our community because regardless of where you are, we are all KC Together. Participants will receive a special edition race packet including a super-soft “KC Together” t-shirt, Royals-branded cooling headband, Royals-branded no-touch multi-tool, running bib and more. For the first time, participants will also have access to virtual and printable resources, including nutritional and run training guides from the Royals Sports Medicine staff. The 5K costs $30 and the 10K costs $40. Registration and resources are available at royals.com/run.
Fans are also encouraged to use the RaceJoy app when they do their virtual run for an exclusive race day experience, including encouragements from familiar Royals voices. Spectators are also able to track and cheer on runners/walkers through the RaceJoy app. Participants can race and record their time any time between registration and race weekend. Race packets will be mailed directly to runners.
