OMAHA, Neb. – Kansas Wesleyan and College of Saint Mary played to a 1-1 draw on Saturday in women's soccer action at Heritage Park.CSM got on the board first in the 29th minute on a goal from Marissa Ring.
In the 66th minute the Coyotes got the equalizer. Isabella Anderson played a through ball over the middle of the field to Precious Nwosu who broke free of a defender on the run, and tapped the ball in for the score.
CSM outshot the Coyotes 13-9 in the match. Nwosu had three shots to lead the Coyotes, while Graciela Lopez and Yissel Navarro had two each. Allison Blumenthal recorded five saves for the Coyotes.
The Coyotes are on the road for the next two to close out non-conference play. KWU heads to Hastings on Wednesday, then is at Central Christian next Saturday before opening KCAC play on September 13 against York.
