Delores Kathryn Morrell

Delores Kathryn Morrell was born on May 7, 1929 in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the daughter of Harold and Hyland Hock Sleichter. She died early Thursday, February 20, 2020 at the Resident Care Center in Beloit, Kansas at the age of 90.

She grew up in Colorado, where she attended and graduated from Falcon High School in Falcon, Colorado, where she met Wayne Morrell.

On June 8, 1947, she and Wayne were united in marriage, and they were privileged to be married for 51 years until his death in May, 1999.

For many years, she worked as a medical records clerk at Hilltop Lodge in Beloit.

In her spare time, she enjoyed her flower garden, reading, and making quilts and lap robes.

She was a member of the Pleasant View Church and later the Beloit First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her husband, Wayne, she was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gary; and her sister, Dorothy Peterson.

Delores is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Morrell and Kelli Powers and husband Todd, all of Arlington, KS; 9 grandchildren, Jeff, Stephanie, Timothy, Natalie, Lyndsey, Kasey, Whitney, Kaylyn, and Cody; 13 great grandchildren, Jennifer, Kain, Camden, Dagen, Delanie, Daxton, Adelyn, Eli, Levi, Dylan, Layla, Dawsyn, and Weston; her sister, Shirley Straight of St. John; daughter-in-law, Donna Morrell of Beloit; nephew, Carl and wife Kitty Wagner of Beloit; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM Saturday, February 29 at the Roberts Family Funeral Home followed by burial in Pleasant View Cemetery south of Beloit. Visitation will be from 1-7 PM with family present from 5-6 PM Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the Resident Care Center or Perdue House.
