Medicare Basics workshops offered

K-State Research and Extension is offering two Medicare Basics: New to Medicare workshops this spring.

Learn the basics of Medicare, including eligibility, how and when to apply, costs, what is covered by the various parts, and how to fill the gaps. Programs available to assist low-income individuals will also be discussed.

Anyone interested in learning more about the Medicare maze would benefit from the program, particularly those who are nearing age 65 or who help aging parents with insurance and financial matters.

These free, educational programs will be held March 17 from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Welcome Center on the K-State Polytechnic campus (building #11 on the campus map, and March 21 from 10-11:30 a.m. in the Prescott Room of the Salina Public Library,  301 West Elm Street. The program is presented by extension educator Deb Wood, CFP® who is a SHICK counselor.
