Peggy Jean Adee

Peggy Jean Adee was born on January 5, 1935, the daughter of Paul D. & Helen I. (Wilkinson) Rogers. She passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the Belleville Health Care Center, at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 11 days.

Peggy was raised near Haddam, and attended Haddam Schools, graduating from Haddam High School in 1953. Peggy later attended Cloud County Community College, where she earned her certificate in Healthcare Administration.

She married Robert Adee in 1953, and to this union, seven children were born. Robert and Peggy were later divorced.

Peggy enjoyed bowling, playing bingo and the occasional trip to the casino. She also enjoyed reading her many books, and knitting. While she wasn’t able to take as many trips as she would have liked to Peggy enjoyed travelling when she had the chance to.

Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, and her great-granddaughter Kamryn Aufdengarten.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; daughters Joan Pape and her husband Larry of Washington; June Stafford of Dacona, Colorado, and Roberta Verhoek and her husband Randy of Danbury, Texas; sons Jack Adee and his wife Kathy of Haddam; Rex Adee and his wife Robin of Arcadia, Oklahoma; Roger Adee of Republic; and Herbert Adee and his wife Liz of Lake Latawana, Missouri; she is also survived by her brother, Grant Tarmen and his wife Linda, of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Peggy is also survived by her grandchildren: Diana Aufdengarten (Brian, Melissa Pape, Robert Pape, Sarah Isaacson (Greg, Josh Stafford (Christina, Jack Adee, Jr. (Tara, Amanda Sufi (Musab, Cassandra Smith (Michael, Rochelle Lazzo (Victor, Rebeka Verhoek, Ryan Adee (Samantha, Regan McWhirter (Chris, Rhame Adee (Meghan, Tabathia Dunn (David, Robert Adee, Miranda Weddington (Anthony, Jordan Adee, and Alex Gaughran; and 28 great-grandchildren.

Direct cremation was chosen, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mahaska City Cemetery, Mahaska, Kansas. Following the service, the family will greet friends at the Haddam City Hall.

Memorials are requested to the family’s choice, to be designated at a later date, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
