CONCORDIA -- Cloud County Community College baseball player Griffin Larsen has been named Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference player of the week for his performance during the week of Feb. 10-16.
The award comes as Larsen helped the T-Birds to a 3-1 overall record last week, making the start in three of four gmames while going six-for-10 at the plate with two doubles, one triple, one home run, three walks, and two hit-by-pitches. The Overland Park native had a 1.300 slugging percentage while driving in five runs and scoring six times and had a .733 on-base percentage. Behind the plate as catcher in three of the games, Larsen would record 23 putouts and three assists.
Larsen becomes the first T-Bird of 2020 to earn KJCCC Player of the Week honors and first since Jackson Dietel who won the award on April 17, 2019.
