The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has announced that the northbound and southbound rest areas on U.S. Highway 81 in Ottawa County will remain closed.
According to KDOT, the rest areas "will remain closed for further repair by Ottawa County Rural Water."
The rest areas initially were expected to have been reopened after work was completed today.

On Wednesday, the Kansas Department of Transportation will temporarily close the northbound and southbound rest areas on U.S. Highway 81 in Ottawa County to repair a water leak.
Rest areas are expected to reopen later the same day once work is complete.
