More than $4,000 worth of items stolen from Assaria storage unit

ASSARIA -- An Assaria man is out more than $4,000 worth of items after someone broke into a storage unit Sunday.

Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning that sometime between noon and 6:51 p.m. Sunday, someone cut the lock on a unit at the Assaria Storage facility 205 East Second Street in Assaria. Stephen Riedel, 70, of Assaria, reported that multiple items from the unit were missing, including the following, Soldan said.

A Makita battery pack

Three Makita screw guns

A Makita grinder

A battery charger

A Makita cordless sawzall

An end cutoff tool

An 8-inch Makita circular saw

A half-inch Makita drill

A gray toolbox with assorted tools

An old engine lift/stand

A four-inch aluminum bender

A four-foot Van Mark metal bender

Another gray toolbox

Total loss was estimated at $4,062, Soldan said.
