Nancy would say one of the best days of her college career was sitting in alphabetical order in humanities class next to Daniel C. King and the rest is history. Nancy knew that she had met an incredible man when on her first date she received a call that her father had passed away. Dan drove Nancy to Wichita and never left her side.
Nancy and Dan married August 25, 1957 and lived a true love story until Dan’s passing on their 60th wedding anniversary in 2017. Nancy missed Dan every day. Nancy decided to put her college career on hold and worked at Farm Bureau in Manhattan to support Dan through vet school. Nancy took pride in being an incredible wife helping Dan start their veterinary clinic,Town and Country Animal Hospital when they moved to Salina in 1960. Nancy had an incredible talent for decorating and making a loving home for her family. Nancy was an amazing mother to her daughters. She was the most selfless person, seeing the good in everyone and never giving up on others, she loved taking care of people. Her true passion in life was being the best wife, mother and “grammy” and she was. She loved and supported her grandsons Brock and Austin more than ever in all of their interests and talents. She was so proud of them. Nancy was full of compassion, class and grace. She had a strong faith and knew she would someday be reunited with her “Dan” whom she missed so much.
As a family, we are incredibly sad to lose such an amazing woman and will miss her beyond words. But we know that her and Dan had an incredible reunion in Heaven and will be once again walking hand in hand as it should be.
