
Rebecca Torres Drennan, 70, Yucca Valley, California, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on January 31, 2020. Becky is a former resident of both Delphos and Minneapolis, Kansas. Becky was born January 17, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to Jose and Janie (Ramirez) Torres.
Becky was born in Detroit, but grew up in Redondo Beach, California. Becky married Lucky Drennan in 1981. Together, they moved from California to Kansas where they raised their three children. Becky worked extremely hard to help support her family, even working three jobs at one time. Her strong work ethic was ingrained into all of her children. What Becky loved most was cheering on her children and grandchildren in sports; she was their biggest fan. Becky also loved coaching the Delphos junior high girls basketball team and Susie’s summer softball team.
Becky had a lifelong friend Cathy Vansant, who’s friendship she cherished. Together, they took their last best friends trip to the east coast visiting both the Canadian and New York sides of Niagara Falls, Gettysburg, Lancaster, Baltimore, and Washington DC. Becky and Cathy raised their children together creating a lifetime of memories to reminiscence upon when getting together. Thank you Cathy for always being a source of strength for mom.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lucky.
Survivors include her children Jeremy (Marilyn, Susie (Steven, Shawn (Lluvia, grandchildren Alexis, Dominic, Leila, Cannan, Lucky, Kruz, Sofia, Sidney, and Charlie. Sisters Susie Barnes, Annie Jones, Lucy Torres, and Jeanette Mendez and brothers Sammy, Emanuel, and Gary Torres as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A private memorial service was held with close friends and family in California.
