UPDATE: Winter weather advisories dropped

UPDATED 9: 40 p.m. Wednesday: The National Weather Service has dropped or allowed to expire all winter weather advisories for our area.

Multiple winter weather advisories have been issued for counties in our area.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Topeka has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday for Dickinson County.

Total snow accumulations of one to two inches with locally higher amounts, mainly during the morning, is expected. Snow should mix with rain during the afternoon.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact both the morning and evening commute.

Additionally, NWS in Wichita has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight tonight for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Saline County

Wet snow is expected, with total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches. Possible flash freeze this evening and tonight, with strong and gusty north winds this evening and tonight.

Plan on slippery road conditions especially on untreated surfaces. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. There will be a refreeze on wet and slushy roads this evening and tonight, possibly impacting the Thursday morning commute.

NWS in Wichita also has issued a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight for the following countities in the area.

Marion County

McPherson County

A mix of rain and wet snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches, with isolated 3 inch amounts. Possible flash freeze this evening and tonight. Strong and gusty north winds tonight.

Plan on slippery road conditions especially on untreated surfaces. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning or evening commute. There will be a refreeze on wet and slushy roads this evening and tonight, possibly impacting the Thursday morning commute.
