🏀 Trojans battle, but Southeast season draws to close at Chaparral

Southeast of Saline put up a good fight on Thursday night, but the Trojan basketball season came to a close in Chaparral as the Roadrunners prevailed in a 63-51 victory.

Southeast was in the fight after a quarter, trailing by just three thanks to a strong 7-point start from Tiernan Ptacek.

In the second quarter Chaparral began to pull away, and Southeast scored just two field goals, but the kept things even in the third and prepared to make a comeback down 15 in the fourth.

The Trojans caught fire in the fourth, scoring 21 points but the damage was done and Chaparral held on to advance to the second round.

A trio of Trojans scored in double digits, led by by Ptacek (14), Hendrix Lund (13), and Adam Thiel (10).

Chaparral had four double-digit scorers to match that in Daniel Schmidt (17), Jack Walker (16), Carter Hostetler (11), and Daxton Hostetler (10).

The Roadrunners improve to 19-3 and will advance to face Cheney in the sub-state semifinals.
