ABILENE -- Hospice of Dickinson County is looking for caring individuals who want to make a difference in the community.
Volunteer training for those interested in becoming a hospice volunteer has been scheduled. Anyone in Dickinson County is welcome to attend.
The class will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday and Feb. 14 at Home Health and Hospice, 1111 N. Brady, Abilene. The training is for individuals who would like to help support hospice patients and their families, and will include how the program works and how volunteers are an important part of the hospice program.
There are many types of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can choose to be involved with the patient and family or assist with mailings, fundraisers, correspondence, and general office support.
