Dorothy Marie Smith, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2020 in Westminster, CO. She was born July 27, 1933 in Delphos, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence Reed and Grace (Cain) Rice.
Dorothy attended schools in Delphos and was a 1951 Graduate of Delphos High School. She married Leland Lemoine Smith August 26, 1951. She moved to Boulder, CO in 1963 and resided in the Denver metro area until her death. Dorothy worked as an administrative assistant for several years before retiring to enjoy traveling with her husband.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Sharlene Kay (Dennis) Schneiderwent, Arvada, CO, grandchildren Amanda Marie (Travis) Eubanks of San Antonio, TX and Michael Robert (Jessica) Stebbins of Canyon, TX, great grandchildren, Asher Eubanks, Annalise Eubanks, Benjamin Eubanks and Judah Eubanks all of San Antonio, TX, son-in-law, Jeffrey (Angela) Stebbins of Waco, TX and brother Louis (Donna) Rice. We will miss her strong will and beautiful smile.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2007; son Daryl in 1989 and daughter Sharon Stebbins in 1997.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 6 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Burial will be in the Delphos Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M., Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
