
Ladonna Jean Kamphaus, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2020 in the Lyle House at the Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community.
She was born on July 22, 1942 at the family farm near Longford, Kansas, daughter of William and Wanda Steenbock. She was a graduate of Longford High School class of 1960. She married Tyrone Kamphaus in 1966. She worked as a custodian at Clay Center Hospital and Secretary at Brown's Department Store before marriage. After marriage she became a mother and homemaker. She was a member of the Idana Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in teaching various Sunday School Classes, Vacation Bible School and served as the Sunday School Secretary and Church Historian for several years. Ladonna was also involved in EHU, Extension Homemakers Unit, and helping out on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband Tyrone Kamphaus, Idana, Kan.; and three children; JimKamphaus of Wichita, Kan., Connie (Kamphaus) and husband Darrin Barbour, Connie's two sons Grady and Bristol of Louisburg, Kan. , Don and his wife Kim Kamphaus, Don's two sons Aaron and Gage of Idana Kan.; one sister Irene Schoneweis and husband Wilber of Wichita, Kan.; and two brothers, William, Jr. Steenbock and wife Nance of Longford, Kan.; Bob and his late wife Shelia Steenbock of Topeka, Kan.
Funeral Services: Friday, January 31, 2020 at 10:30AM at the First Presbyterian Church in Idana, Kansas.
