A wintry mix turning to heavy wet snow is expected late tonight and continuing into Tuesday evening.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, accumulations will range from a trace to four inches, with locally higher amounts possible across portions of central and south central Kansas.
The axis of heaviest snow is expected over portions of southwest Kansas into the panhandles, NWS noted. Slick spots may occur on elevated roadways with the snowfall accumulation anticipated primarily on grassy surfaces.
