A Salina man was arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and damage to property after an alleged incident Saturday night.

Salina Police were sent to the 2300 block of Chapel Ridge Place at 10:30 p.m. Saturday for the report of a domestic disturbance, Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva said this morning. Samuel Detrick, 26, of Salina, and a 36-year-old Salina female allegedly were arguing about Detrick having the woman's nine-year-old son with him when he allegedly shoplifted at the Central Mall earlier in the day, Villanueva said.

The woman told police that Detrick strangled her and damaged a bedroom door, he said. Damage was estimated at $200, Villanueva said.

He said Detrick was arrested on suspicion of aggravated domestic battery and damage to property.
