Salina man arrested on suspicion of trespassing, gun possession

A local man faces requested charges of trespassing and criminal possession of a firearm by a felon after an alleged incident Saturday afternoon in north Salina.

Salina Police Detective Sergeant David Villanueva said this morning that police were sent to the 1200 block of Prospect shortly after 2:30 p.m. for the report of William Kelley, 36, of Salina, getting into a verbal altercation at a family member's residence. The altercation concerned domestic relations and children, Villanueva said. Kelley left the residence with a shotgun before police arrived, he added.

At 4:37 p.m. Saturday, Kelley was located in the neighborhood and taken into custody and the shotgun was recovered, Villanueva said.

Kelley was arrested on suspicion of the following, Villanueva said.
