Smoky Hill Museum celebrating Kansas Day

It is time to celebrate Kansas’ birthday and the Smoky Hill Museum will be doing it up right.

Bring the whole family and enjoy the fun at the free Kansas Day celebration, Feb. 1 from 1-3 p.m. at the museum, 211 West Iron Avenue.

The whole family can enjoy learning how to make butter, shell corn and weave on a real loom. You can also learn about leatherworking and Native American regalia. Plus, there will be make and take crafts, delicious birthday cupcakes.

Everything’s free at the Kansas Day Open House and Birthday Bash.

The Smoky Hill Museum is a nationally accredited history museum, in the heart of downtown Salina. This free museum is open Tuesday-Friday 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
