Crimestoppers seeks tips about damaged mailboxes

On Monday Jan. 6, 2020, the Saline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of South Simpson Road and East Water Well Road in Saline County for a report of damaged mailboxes of several Saline County residences.

Sometime between Sunday, Jan. 5, at 5 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 6, at 6:40 a.m., unknown suspect(s) participated in what is known as “mailbox baseball” and damaged mailboxes along the side of the road.

Eight mailboxes were damaged between the 1000 block and 3000 block of East Water Well Road and six mailboxes were damaged between the 300 block and 3000 block of South Simpson Road.

Total loss and damage is estimated to be in excess of $750.
