A 30-year-old Salina man was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI after a late afternoon accident Wednesday.

Jeremy Eilrich, 30, of Salina, was eastbound on West Bond Street in a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu when he allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign at Highland Avenue and struck a 2018 Buick Encore driven by Marcia Demuth, 55, of Salina, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning.

The accident occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, he said.

Neither Demuth nor Eilrich was injured, Forrester said.

The Malibu had front-end damage and had to be towed, while the Encore sustained damage to the front driver's side and also had to be towed, he said.

Forrester said that when the officer made contact with Eilrich, he possibly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. A test was administered and Eilrich was arrested on suspicion of the following, Forrester said.

Felony DUI (Eilrich had two prior DUI convictions, Forrester said.)
