UPDATE 7 p.m. Friday: Several counties in our area have been downgraded from a winter storm warning designation to winter weather advisories.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita has canceled the winter storm warning and moved the following counties into a winter weather advisory until 4 a.m. Saturday.
McPherson County
Saline County
Mixed precipitation, with additional snow accumulations of up to one inch and ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph are expected.
Additionally, NWS in Topeka has canceled the winter storm warning and issued a winter weather advisory in effect until midnight for Dickinson County.
Mixed precipitation with a light dusting of snow and light glaze of ice are possible. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph are expected.
NWS in Topeka also has shortened the winter weather advisory for Clay County. It now is in effect until midnight.
Additionally, the winter weather advisories for the following counties have been canceled.

Heavy mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around two tenths of an inch are expected, with winds gusting as high as 40 mph.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Additionally, NWS is Wichita has issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 9 a.m. today through 4 a.m. Saturday for the following counties in our area.
Ellsworth County
Lincoln County
Mixed precipitation is expected. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze with winds gusting as high as 35 mph. A narrow band of 2 to 4 inches of snow is possible across across Russell and Lincoln counties.
Plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. Slow down and use caution while traveling.
