KDOT announces approved December bids

TOPEKA -- The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced approved bids for state highway construction and maintenance projects in Kansas.

The letting took place Dec. 18, 2019, in Topeka. Some of the bids may include multiple projects that have been bundled based on proximity and type of work.

District One — Northeast

Brown County ‑ 73‑7 KA‑3874‑01 – U.S. 73, bridge #013 over Walnut Creek located approximately 9.6 miles north of the U.S. 73/U.S. 36 junction, bridge replacement, King Construction Company Inc. & Subsidiaries, Hesston, Kan., $2,810,668.97.

Johnson County ‑ 35‑46 KA‑4220‑02 ‑ I‑35, from 0.4 mile south of I‑35/75th Street junction north to 0.2 mile south of I‑35/67th Street junction, grade and surfacing, 1.3 miles, Clarkson Construction Company, Kansas City, Mo., $12,987,791.59.

Johnson County ‑ 69‑46 KA‑4844‑02 – U.S. 69, bridge #136 located at the U.S. 69/I‑35 junction in Johnson County, bridge paint, Clarkson Construction Company, Kansas City, Mo., $521,022.50.

Wabaunsee County ‑ 99‑99 KA‑3358‑01 – K-99, culvert #546 over Middle Branch Mill Creek Drainage located 2.3 miles north of K‑4, culvert, Ebert Construction Co Inc & Subsidiary, Wamego, Kan., $449,622.33.

Seward County ‑ 54‑88 KA‑5359‑01 – U.S. 54, from the Oklahoma/Kansas state line east to the west city limits of Liberal, ultra thin bonded asphalt surfacing, 3.9 miles, J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kan., $1,137,284.67.

The following projects were approved from the Nov. 13, 2019, letting.

Riley County ‑ 81 U‑2337‑01 ‑ Riley Avenue and Walnut Street intersection, in the vicinity of Ogden Elementary School in Ogden, pedestrian and bicycle paths, Bryant & Bryant Construction Inc., Halstead, Kan., $266,223.60.

Ellsworth County ‑ 156‑27 KA‑4763‑01 – K-156, K‑156 and 8th Street intersection, intersection improvement, 0.5 mile, Venture Corporation, Great Bend, Kan., $1,259,298.28.
