UPDATED: Multiple fire units contain large grass fire east of Salina

Personnel from multiple fire units are fighting a large grass fire east of Salina.

The fire was first reported before 2 p.m. southeast of the East Magnolia Road-South Simpson Road intersection. One fire official was heard estimating that the fire had burned 100 acres. 

The grass fire was large enough that the National Weather Service could pick it up on radar. From the US National Weather Service Wichita Kansas Facebook page:

Fire units from at least three rural fire districts, the Salina Fire Department, and McPherson County responded to the blaze.
