Police are searching for a known subject in an alleged aggravated battery and domestic violence case.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning that officers were dispatched to the intersection of Osage Avenue and West Republic Avenue at 5:30 p.m. for the report of a woman who had been hit on the head. When officers arrived, they were advised that the 30-year-old woman had been taken to the Salina Regional Health Center emergency room, he said.
The woman, who is pregnant, told police that she had arrived home in the 900 block of Osage to find that her 31-year-old boyfriend had some people at the residence, which angered her, Forrester said. She told officers that she got into an argument with her boyfriend who then pushed her backward, causing her to bite her lip, Forrester said. She said she then walked down a hallway and her boyfriend hit her in the head with a small bag with a hard object in it, causing a one-inch laceration on the back of her head that required two staples, Forrester said.
