Police are investigating the theft of a car from a south Salina neighborhood late last week.
Lindsay and Lynn Huenefeld told police that sometime between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday, someone entered their garage in the 700 block of Joanie Lane and stole their dark purple (looks black) 2016 Nissan Maxima, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester reported this morning. The car had a Kansas license plate of 384CTR, he added.
Additionally, a woman's purse and wedding ring were in the car, according to Forrester. The Huenefelds told police that they may have left the garage door up, Forrester reported.
Total loss was estimated at approximately $34,000, he noted.
