Sandra G. Tibbits, 48, Minneapolis, died Friday, December 27, 2019 at the Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis. She was born in Hutchinson on March 7, 1971 to Donald and Wanda (Naugle) McKenna.
Sandy attended schools in Hutchinson and was a 1989 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She and Thomas Tibbits were united in marriage on July 31, 1993 in Hutchinson. Sandy and Tom farmed in Ottawa County and she was currently serving on the U.S.D. 239 school board.
Survivors are her husband, Tom; children, Trevor, Kaylee, and Isaiah; parents, Don and Wanda McKenna; brother, Don D. McKenna and his wife, Jenny and their children, Bishop, Orion, and Kage; father and mother-in-law, John and Rosalie Tibbits, brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Amanda Tibbits; and numerous friends.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 31 at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday at the church. The family kindly asks that memorials be made to Jo Nana Lunches. This is a fund that helps pay for school lunches within U.S.D. 239.
