
UPDATED 1:40 p.m. Friday: Here's the latest concerning the shooting in west Salina early this morning. From Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester:
"On Dec. 20 at approximately 2 a.m., officers were sent to the 1500 block of West Crawford for a subject with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim, Paul Davenport, 41, from Salina, reported that he was walking in the area when a black Honda drove by occupied by two black males. The passenger of the vehicle fired a shot striking Davenport in the right thigh area. A bullet (projectile) was found in front of 721 Osage. We are currently reviewing video surveillance in the area. Davenport was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. We do not think this is a random event. "

Police are still investigating the early Friday morning shooting of a man on the west side of Salina just before 2 am.
Captain Paul Forrester said the man was shot in the leg and the wound is non-life threatening.
Investigators as of late Friday morning were still trying to gather information to determine the facts of the shooting.
Forrester said more information could be released later Friday.
