Applications are now being taken for the advanced Citizens Academy.
Sponsored by the Saline County Sheriff's Office and the Salina Police Department, the advanced academy is scheduled to run from Feb. 5, 2020, to March 25, 2020, according to Saline County Sheriff's Lieutenant Sean Kochanowski.
Persons interested in taking the advanced class must have completed the basic Citizens Academy offered in the fall each year, Kochanowski said. Both versions of the Citizens Academy provide participants with an inside look at law enforcement work. They also provide law enforcement personnel with citizens' perspectives of law enforcement.
Applications are available on the Saline County Sheriff's Office website or at the Saline County Sheriff's Office and the Salina Police Department. Applications will be accepted through Dec. 31, Kochanowski said.
