Don't forget: A meeting concerning the future of the expo center has been scheduled for Thursday evening.
According to information from the City of Salina, the Salina City Commissioners and Saline County Commissioners are scheduled to meet for a joint session at 6 p.m. Thursday to discuss the expo center. The meeting, which is open to the public is to be in the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Visit Salina Annex room, 120 West Ash Street.
Saline County is asking for a 40-year lease from the city for the expo center property in Kenwood Park in exchange for the county investing $5.7 million in upgrades and renovations over the first five years of the lease. The city has not yet been willing to agree to a 40-year lease.
