Patricia Louise Jones was born on June 4, 1933 in Beloit, Kansas, the daughter of Kenneth and Katherine Payne White. She died early Tuesday, December 17, 2019 in the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas at the age of 86.
She grew up and went to school in Beloit, where she graduated from Beloit High School. Following graduation, she went to nursing school, but came home to help her family.
In 1955, she was united in marriage with James L. Jones, and three children were born to this union. In 1962, she and her family moved to Osborne, where she took care of her mother and grandparents. She greatly loved her children and grandchildren, and was always loving and supporting of their activities.
Patricia and her family also lived in Ellsworth and North Newton before returning to Beloit in 2015. They were privileged to spend 62 years of marriage together until his death in June, 2017. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Newton to be closer to her daughter. While at Presbyterian Manor, she enjoyed attending Bible studies and singing hymns, while also going on outings with the other residents.
She was dearly loved and her smile will be remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Patricia is survived by her children, Kathleen and husband Wayne Valentine of Newton, Greg Jones of Gypsum, and Janis Burks of Gypsum; brother, Kenneth White, Jr. and wife Shareon of Bennington; sister, Penny Foulke of Ness City; four grandchildren; nine great grandchildren with one on the way; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be at 11 AM Friday, December 20 at Elmwood Cemetery in Beloit. Memorials may be given to the Newton Presbyterian Manor.
