
Nicholas F. Zaragoza, 68, of Salina, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. He was born in Salina on Nov. 4, 1951, to Raymond and Frances (Navarrette) Zaragoza.
Nick joined the U.S. Air Force at age 17 and retired after 20 years of military service. He then worked as a mechanic for Mel Hambelton Ford, Wichita, and Long McArthur Ford, Salina, and did maintenance at Salina Vo Tech, where he retired. After retirement he worked at ServiceMaster, Salina.
Nick is survived by his wife, Rachelle Zaragoza, of Salina; mother, Frances, of Albuquerque, N.M.; children, Rachel Zaragoza, of Wichita, Derek Zaragoza, of Salina, and Jose Zaragoza, Nick Zaragoza Jr. and Daniel Zaragoza (Erin) Zaragoza, all of California; stepchildren, Victoria Fernandez, of Salina, Thomas Fernandez, of Salina, and Cote Hower (Ebonee, of Ankeny, Iowa; grandchildren, Maddison, Braxtyn and Olyvia Zaragoza, Angel, Izak and Urijah Zaragoza, Dajonae McGee, Timothy Gillespie, Chazz Zaragoza, Carsen Ortiz, Kristian Winegarner, and Tristian Zaragoza; stepgrandchildren, Tytus Hower, Derion, Sean, Isiah, Audriana, Ian and Gracie; siblings, Ramona Casanova, of Albuquerque, Rosemary Bonilla (Fortunato Jr., of Salina, and Linda Zrubek (Richard, of Salina; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Nick was preceded in death by wife, Bonnie; father, Raymond; sister, MaryAnn Zaragoza; and brother-in-law, Dionicio Casanova Jr.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, at Ryan Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Ryan Mortuary with a celebration of life to follow at Bishop Street.
Inurnment will be at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery of Fort Riley at a later date.
Memorials will be determined at a later date.
