Police are investigating a residential burglary in south Salina and thanks to footprints in the snow, they have a known suspect.
Sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Monday, someone broke into a residence in the 2600 block of Linda Lane, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Tuesday. It is believed that entry was made through an attached garage, he said.
According to Forrester, stolen items, valued at more than $1,800, include the following.
A Samsung camcorder
A PSE Vision compound bow
A Henry 3030 Yellow Boy brass rifle
A Remington 1100 12-gauge shotgun
Two PSE Kudu recurve bows
A jar of coins
Miscellaneous arrows
During the investigation, police located footprints in the snow that led to a neighboring house, Forrester said. After talking with residents there, police believe another resident, a white male in his 20s, is the person responsible for the burglary, however that person had not yet been arrested, he said. A compound bow, the camcorder, and the jar were recovered during the investigation, he added.
