Saline County is closing part of Country Club Road for a railroad crossing replacement.
According to information from the Saline County Road and Bridge Department, County Club Road from Holmes Road to Simpson Road will once again be closed to through traffic beginning Tuesday to permit the Union Pacific Railroad to replace their railroad crossing. Construction is anticipated to last one day but may extend into Wednesday.
"This is the last crossing to be replaced in the area. Therefore, the temporary aggregate surfacing in the road will be replaced with asphalt pavement," the road and bridge information noted.
Motorists are advised to allow a few extra minutes of travel time to reach their destinations. Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times but only from the half-mile side upon which the property lies.
