Jail project, RFD board appointments on county agenda

The jail project and rural fire district board appointments are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

The commission meeting, which is to be televised by Salina Media Connection, is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.

After tabling the issue last week, commissioners are scheduled to consider a bid award for construction manager at risk for the county's jail project.

Commissioners also are scheduled to consider rural fire district board appointments. Those appointments include the following.

Rural Fire District No. l (Term from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023)

Pete Kendrick, reappointment

Bruce Waddle, reappointment

Eric Stubbs, reappointment

Rural Fire District No. 2 (Term from Jan. 1, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2023)

Other items on the county commission agenda for Tuesday include the following.

Consider renewing the medical liability insurance policy for the Saline County Health Department -- Jason Tiller, health department director

Discuss the health department advisory council by-laws -- Tiller

Hear about the Fort Riley to Smoky Hill Unmanned Aircraft System Corridor Study -- Doug McKinney, executive director of the North Central Regional Planning Commission

Hear a pre-trial stats update -- Andrew Pellant, pre-trial program coordinator and Annie Grevas, community corrections director

At the conclusion of the meeting, the commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session in room 107B of the City-County Building for the county administrator's update with Phillip Smith-Hanes. The update is scheduled to take 30 minutes.
