Posted Dec 06, 2019 1:05 PM

Childcare for children ages five and under is at a premium in Saline County.

According to information provided by Child Advocacy & Parenting Services (CAPS, Saline County currently only has 1,600 licensed child care slots for the 4,000 children under the age of five.

The 20 organization collaboration, Partners In Early Childhood Education, is partnering with KS Action for Children and Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) to show the film, No Small Matter, which addresses this concern. The event will conclude with opportunity to discuss how to be a part of the solution.

The event is scheduled for 6:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 12 in Fitzpatrick Auditorium, and is open to the public at no charge. Light food and beverages will be provided.

Child care providers will be eligible to receive a certificate for 1.67 hours.
