Salina Police are looking for a possible known suspect in a high speed pursuit early Thursday morning.
Captain Paul Forrester said an officer was following a 1990 Gold Honda Accord eastbound in the 400 block of West Ash about 1:30 Thursday morning when it stopped in the intersection of 9th and Ash.
The male driver turned on turn signal and went south on 9th Street. The officer tried to make a traffic stop at 9th and Iron, the driver of the Honda did not stop and rapidly accelerated to a speed on 70 mph and drove in the middle left turn lane. and ran several stoplights.
Officers deployed stop sticks at 9th and Claflin, but the driver continued south in the northbound lanes to avoid the sticks.
Captain Forrester said the pursuit was called off at old 81 and McReynolds Road.
A short time later a Saline County Sheriff's deputy found the car parked in the trailer park at Assaria.
When contacted the owner of the car who lives in Salina, said he recently had been letting different people borrow the car.
