A local vigil in connection with the National Vigil for Victims of Gun Violence is scheduled for next week.
The event is scheduled for 7-8 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Salina, 901 Beatrice Street.
Nearly seven years ago, a gunman murdered 26 children and adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. Every December since that horrific tragedy, concerned people have gathered to honor and remember all victims of gun violence and to support families impacted by gun violence.
The local event is sponsored by the Salina group of the Kansas chapter of Moms Demand Action and the Kansas Interfaith Action.
