Richard L. Huiett, 75, Minneapolis, died Thursday, November 21, 2019. He was born in Salina on March 1, 1944 to David E. and Myrtle (Young) Huiett.
Richard lived in the area most of his life, working for Ottawa County as both a shop worker and as a maintainer grader. He was known as a jack of all trades, dabbling in everything from woodworking, to cars, to fishing and anything outdoors. Perhaps most of all, Richard will be remembered for the amazing way he loved his grandchildren.
Richard was united in marriage to Madonna (Adams) on September 25, 1965 in Tescott. Four children were born to this union.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank; and an infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Huiett.
Survivors are his children, Patti Huiett, Timothy (Jennifer) Huiett, Karen (Bradley)Falder, and Kristina (Paul) McGuire; lifelong companion, Madonna; grandchildren, Reesa and Joseph Huiett, Orren and Ethan Huiett, Ethan Bevard, Jerica and Annie Parker, Jacob, Lauren, and Jayme Falder, Lacey and Lorelei McGuire, B.J. Huber and Michael Walker; great-grandchildren, Cullen and Madelyn Huiett, Harlie Falder and Jackson Walker; brothers John and Paul Huiett.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 P.M. Monday, November 25, 2019 at Wilson Family Funeral Home with funeral services at 7:00 P.M. Cremation will follow the funeral.
Memorials may be made to the Richard Huiett Memorial Fund to be used for lunches in the Tescott school system.
