Leo Benjamin Schwerman

Leo Benjamin Schwerman was born in 1926 in Beloit to Mary Wahlmeier Schwerman and Benjamin Schwerman. He passed away at his home on November 21, 2019 on his 93 rd birthday. He lived his entire life on the family farm north of Beloit. He attended elementary and high school at St. John’s, graduating with the class of 1944. He spent his whole life farming and ranching, raising crops, cattle, sheep and hogs. His proud achievement was being elected to serve as president of the National Farmers Organization for several years. He was an honorary life member

of the Knights of Columbus, being a member for 61 years. He also served in the National Guard.


He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Leonard and sister-in-law, Susagnes, and his great niece, Jennifer Stewart. He is survived by his nieces Ann Pearson (Tommy) of Ellisville, Mississippi, Rita Soler (Hector, nephews Dale Schwerman (Ann) and Carl Schwerman (Joanie) all of Beloit, Kansas, along with many great nieces and nephews.


Visitation Monday, November 25th from 4-7 p.m. with rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at Schoen Funeral Home and Monuments. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 26th at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. Memorials to St. John’s Church or St. John’s schools.
