It's slick and messy outside now and multiple slideoffs and rollover accidents are happening in the area thanks to the messy winter weather. Because of the change in the weather, multiple counties in our area are now under a winter weather advisory.
According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, the following counties in our area are under a winter weather advisory until 6 p.m. Friday.
Ellsworth County
Lincoln County
Marion County
McPherson County
Saline County
Snow and patchy freezing drizzle are forecast. Snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts. Also patchy freezing drizzle, with very light ice accumulations possible.
Locations generally along and north of Highway 56 have the greatest chance for snow accumulations, while locations generally south of U.S. Highway 56 have a greater chance of freezing drizzle.
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.

Additionally, Mitchell County is under a winter weather advisory until 5 p.m. Friday, with snow accumulations of 1-2 inches expected, according to NWS in Hastings, Neb.

Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts are possible.
