On Aug. 19, at 6:50 p.m., a person entered Menards, located at 805 Virginia Court in Salina and purchased more than $3,700 worth of appliances, and left in a U-haul truck.
The person purchased a Whirlpool dryer, valued at $809, a Whirlpool washer, valued at $809, a refrigerator, valued at $1799. The check was later found to be a fake.
The party was described as a black male with a bald head, mid to late 30s, muscular build and medium height. He was wearing a white t-shirt and black shorts. It was reported that this same person may have attempted the same-type of activity in the St. Peters, Mo., area.
Salina Police detectives are seeking information on the suspect’s identity.
