A 19-year-old Salina man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly threatening his step-father with a screwdriver.
According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, Austin Gassmann, 19, of Salina, was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault and criminal threat. Forrester said that at about 9 p.m. Wednesday, Gassmann's mother and step-father were attempting to get him to turn down the volume on the music he was playing so they could go to bed.
When the step-father opened Gassmann's bedroom door, Gassmann had a screwdriver in his hand and raised it in a menacing manner, Forrester said. Additionally, Gassmann threatened bodily harm to the step-father, Forrester said.
Gassmann then left the house but was found a short while later walking in the 600 block of South 10th Street and was arrested, Forrester said.
