Several counties in our area are in the greatest threat area for fire danger Monday.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita, the following counties are among those in the greatest threat for fire danger area.
Ellsworth County
Lincoln County
Marion County
McPherson County
Saline County
Northwest winds will develop this afternoon and combine with relatively dry conditions and a lack of recent rainfall to produce elevated fire weather concerns, NWS noted. Please be mindful of any outdoor burning or anything that can cause sparks.
