This week’s Comfort Heating and Air Salute to Service honoree is Ben Gardner.
Ben is a technical trooper with the Kansas Highway Patrol and currently serves as public resource officer for Troop C, which covers north-central Kansas and is headquartered in Salina.
"Trooper Ben has done much to bolster a positive image of the Kansas Highway Patrol with the general public," a nominator wrote. "Not only does he keep the public informed via tweets and posts on the Troop C Facebook page, but he also reminds people to be kind and help one another, both through posts and actions, something we all need to remember."
Likewise, a nominator wrote, "Trooper Ben's tweets and posts are shared by many people across social media. He helps keep people informed about the law, road conditions, accidents, etc. I can tell by how many of his posts are shared that he is a well-respected law enforcement officer. Additionally, he speaks to and works with kids, helping them to understand the need to obey the law and to have a positive respect for law enforcement."
Congratulations, Ben, on being selected as this week’s Comfort Heating and Air Salute to Service honoree! Thank you for your service!
Each week during the NFL regular season, Comfort Heating and Air will salute a member of our military, a local police officer, member of the fire department, a paramedic, or other first responder, honoring those everyday heroes who keep our community safe!
Honorees receive dinner and dessert for two from Chic-fil-A and are put in a random drawing to attend the Chiefs vs. Chargers game on Dec. 29 at Arrowhead Stadium. The grand prize includes lower level tickets to the game, VIP, 2 nights’ hotel stay at the Holiday Inn Kansas City Downtown, and a Chiefs fan pack valued at more than $1,000.
“I’m really excited to expand the Salute to Service contest this year. We’re so grateful to all the active duty military and veterans out there, but also wanted to honor everyday heroes too!” said Tucker Hilbert, owner of Comfort Heating & Air. “We’re thankful to our community partners like Chick-fil-A for helping us make sure each weekly winner feels appreciated.”
Thank you to all the nominees! We salute you!
