More than $5,700 items, including a gold 2010 Chevrolet Traverse, are missing after a residential burglary in central Salina.

Sometime between 5 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. on Monday, someone entered an unlocked residence in the 400 block of Indiana and took items belonging to Miguel Tostado, 28, of Salina, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester. Tostado told police that a Mario or Star Wars backpack that had in it a pair of pants, a shirt, and $500 in cash was taken from a counter in his living room, Forrester said.

The backpack also contained the keys to Tostado’s Traverse, which had a Kansas license tag of 417 GPF, Forrester said.

Total loss was estimated at $5,750, he said.
